Configuring the Liongard Internet/DNS Inspector to Detect DKIM Records

Updated over 12 months ago

Use the following guide to facilitate finding and include DKIM Selectors when configuring Liongard's Internet Domain/DNS Inspector:

1. Click on the Admin dropdown and click on Inspectors

2. In the Inspectors Screen click on the Internet Domain/DNS Inspector

3. Click on the Active Inspectors tab and find the system that you need to activate for the customer's Environment

4. In a separate tab on your browser, navigate to DKIM Checker and Lookup Tool tools | EasyDMARC

5. In the DKIM Record Checker, enter the Domain Name for the customer to be checked for a DKIM Record

6. Check the Detect all selectors box and click on Check DKIM

7. If the Customer has more than one Selector, it will return multiple records. In this example, Latitude36foods.com returned three selector records. Take note of these selectors, as you will use them in the next step.

5. Back in Liongard, on the Inspector's edit screen, scroll down to the DKIM SELECTOR List and enter the names of the detected DKIM selectors. In this example, it is selector2, k2, and k3.

6. Click SAVE.

7. In order to validate that the DKIM Selectors were correctly added, navigate back to the Active Inspectors tab. Click on the Run icon in front of the customer's domain that you wish to inspect

11. Click on the Refresh Status icon to refresh the inspector's status

12. If the Inspector runs and does not return any errors, then the DKIM Selectors were added correctly to the Internet Domain/DNS Inspector for the customer

13. To verify that the DKIM Record Detection for the customer has returned a value of DKIM=True, open the Internet/DNS Inspector for the customer

14. Click on Metrics in the left-hand column

15. Under the METRIC NAME column find the Internet Domain/DNS: DKIM Found on Domain Record metric. It should have a VALUE of True if the DKIM Selectors have been entered correctly. If the value is False, then the DKIM Selectors in the Inspector have been entered incorrectly and will require further troubleshooting.

Please note: In order for the metric to appear in the table, it must be set to display on the Admin > Metrics screen.
