Platform | How To Create a Read-Only User for Single or Multi Environments
Updated over a week ago

Users with the Global Administrator or User Administrator roles can create a read-only user for one or many Environments inside Liongard. Creating a read-only user for a specific Environment is a great way to allow your end customer to log in to Liongard and access reporting and Liongard's dashboards on their own time.

Below are the steps to create a read-only user for one or many Environments.

  1. Log into your Liongard instance with a user account with the Global Administrator or User Administrator role.

  2. From the Admin menu, select Users located in the "Access Management" section.

  3. Select the Add User option in the top-right corner on the next screen.

  4. Fill out the information for the user.

  5. For the "Roles" section, filter down the list by typing "Environment Readers." The list will filter down to an Environment Reader entry for each Environment you have within Liongard. The Environment name succeeds the Environment Reader roles listed within parentheses.

  6. Select the appropriate Environment or Environments for the user. We've selected two Environments to assign the read-only role in the screenshot below.

  7. Select Done.

After completing the setup steps, an invite email is automatically sent to the users. Once users open the email and follow the steps to activate their account, they will access Liongard as a read-only user scoped to their specific Environment or Environments.

The screenshots below are examples of the user experience of a newly created Liongard user scoped down to two different Environments. Note that the users only see the Environments within their scope, and they have full access to view the data and Liongard dashboards for those Environments.
