Overview π₯
The AllowList feature enables reliable access to the Liongard web application (UI) by permitting approved IP addresses through firewalls, proxies, secure web gateways, or other network security controls.
This article specifically covers allowlisting for the Liongard platform (UI) only. It does not apply to inspector connectivity, integrations, agents, or data collection traffic.
Organizations typically use allowlisting to:
Restrict SaaS access to trusted destinations.
Prevent internal security tools from blocking Liongard UI traffic.
Ensure consistent platform access from secured or restricted networks.
Why AllowListing May Be Required? π€
You may need to allowlist Liongard if:
Your organization enforces strict outbound or inbound firewall rules.
A proxy or secure web gateway filters SaaS applications by IP.
Users can access other SaaS platforms but cannot load the Liongard UI.
Network security tools intermittently block Liongard pages or API calls.
Allowlisting ensures that traffic to the Liongard platform is explicitly trusted and not blocked by internal controls.
What Needs to Be AllowListed? π§
For platform (UI) access, Liongard provides a single, dedicated Application IP Address for each Liongard instance.
This IP address represents the endpoint that user browsers connect to when accessing the Liongard web application.
π Important:
The Application IP Address is instance-specific.
Each Liongard instance has its own unique IP.
This IP is used only for platform (UI) access.
β AllowList Requirements:
Item | Description |
Application IP Address | Required for browser access to the Liongard UI |
Protocol | HTTPS (TCP 443) |
Direction | Outbound from your network to Liongard |
How to Locate Your Liongard Application IP Address π§βπ«
Follow these steps to find the correct IP address to allowlist:
Log in to Liongard
Click your profile name in the upper-right corner
Select Account Settings
Open the My Liongard Instance tab
Locate the row labeled Application IP Address
This is the IP address that must be added to your firewall, proxy, or network allowlist to permit UI access.
How to Configure the AllowList? π§
Once you have identified the Application IP Address, configure it in your network security tooling.
Common Configuration Examples
Security Control | Recommended Action |
Firewall | Allow outbound TCP 443 to the Application IP |
Web Proxy | Add the IP as an allowed destination |
Secure Web Gateway | Create an explicit allow rule for the IP |
Network ACL | Permit HTTPS traffic to the IP |
βΉοΈ Configuration steps vary by vendor. Refer to your firewall or security platform documentation for exact instructions.
Validation Steps π
After configuring the allowlist:
Clear the browser cache (recommended).
Confirm the Liongard UI loads successfully.
Verify users can consistently access the platform from the restricted network.
If access issues persist, review firewall or proxy logs to confirm traffic is not being blocked.
Common Issues and Troubleshooting π¨βπ»
Issue | Recommended Action |
Liongard UI does not load | Verify the correct Application IP is allowlisted |
Intermittent access | Review proxy rules or SSL inspection settings |
Works off-network only | Check internal firewall or gateway rules |
Recent access failures | Reconfirm the current Application IP in Account Settings |
When to Contact Support π¦
Contact Liongard Support if:
The Application IP Address is not visible in Account Settings.
Allowlisting is correctly configured but access issues persist.
Firewall or proxy logs indicate blocked traffic that cannot be resolved.
Providing relevant firewall or proxy logs can help expedite troubleshooting.
Important Notes & Disclaimers βΌοΈ
Liongard uses the terms allowlist and blocklist in place of legacy terminology
Application IP addresses are managed by Liongard and are subject to change
If your security controls are very strict, periodically confirm the IP under Account Settings β My Liongard Instance
Customers are responsible for maintaining their own firewall, proxy, and network configurations
Allowlisting affects platform (UI) access only and does not modify inspector connectivity or data collection behavior
For allowlisting related to inspectors, agents, integrations, and supporting services, refer to the broader Liongard allowlisting documentation.
Summary π€©

Each Liongard instance has a unique Application IP Address.
The IP is located under Account Settings β My Liongard Instance.
HTTPS (TCP 443) must be permitted.
Proper allowlisting prevents access issues caused by network security controls.
