Asset Inventory - User Identities with “No Activity Found”

Updated over 2 weeks ago

When reviewing your Asset Inventory, you may notice that some Microsoft 365 (M365) user identities display “No Activity Found” in the Activity column.

This value indicates that the system was unable to detect any sign-in activity for that user.

What the “Activity” Column Means

The Activity column for a M365 user identity reflects:

  • Sign-in activity (when the user logs into M365 services).

If no sign-in activity is detected, the column will return the value “No Activity Found.”

Why “No Activity Found” Appears

This can occur for two main reasons:

1. Licensing Limitations

  • The M365 tenant does not have a P1 or P2 license assigned.
Without one of these licenses, sign-in activity cannot be retrieved.

2. No User Sign-ins

  • The user account has never signed in to their M365 account.

In this case, the system cannot report any activity because none exists.

Summary

If you see “No Activity Found” in the Activity column:

  • First, confirm that your tenant has the proper license (P1/P2).

  • If licensing is in place, check whether the user has ever signed in.

This will help determine whether the lack of activity is expected or requires further investigation.
