Overview
Upon accessing Visual Insights, you do not see any dashboards or only see a limited set of dashboards, typically fewer than expected. The issue can appear as a blank dashboard landing page or fewer dashboards than expected (e.g., only 3 instead of 6).
Visual Insights is Liongard's interactive dashboarding feature designed to provide dynamic visualizations based on data pulled from system inspections. At launch, a predefined set of dashboards was made available to help partners quickly adopt and experiment with the feature. However, over time, the availability of these dashboards has been revised.

Why Does This Happen?
Several factors can lead to this experience:
Change in Default Dashboard Offering
Visual Insights originally included 6 pre-built dashboards for early users of the feature. In general availability, this was revised down to 3 core dashboards based on usage feedback and performance considerations. As a result, newer instances or tenants may only see 3 dashboards by default.Default Filters Pre-applied
Some dashboards have preconfigured filters applied automatically (e.g., filtering to specific environments, licenses, or system types). These filters can limit the visible data or cause dashboards to appear blank, especially if:The environment doesn't match the default filter values.
The expected data source (e.g., a system like M365) hasn't completed a recent inspection.
The underlying metric hasn't returned valid data for that environment.
Steps to Resolve
Navigate to Visual Insights:
On your Liongard instance, go to Reporting > Visual Insights > View All Dashboards.
Open the Template Gallery | Review Available Templates |
Add a Dashboard:
Repeat as Needed:
• Repeat the above steps for any additional dashboards you want to add from the template gallery.
Additional Notes
This process only needs to be completed once per dashboard per instance.
Custom dashboards can be created at any time if the pre-built ones don’t meet your needs.
Some templates may require certain inspectors (like Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, etc.) to have completed at least one inspection to populate the data correctly.
The dashboard data displayed reflects the latest inspection results, so ensure inspectors are running as scheduled.
